This summer, in Hong Kong, you can meet the adorable paper mache pandas that are part of an art project touring the world to raise awareness of conservation issues.
1600 Pandas’ is a collaboration between the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) and French paper mache artist Paulo Grangeon, who has made 1,600 paper mache pandas — 1,600 being the number of living pandas left in the wild.
As part of their world tour, the pandas are visiting Hong Kong this summer to promote the message of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Four special paper mache pandas were created especially for the Hong Kong visit.
The pandas will make appearances at iconic Hong Kong landmarks, including Hong Kong International Airport, the Tian Tan Buddha, Ma Wan, Sha Tin Racecourse, the Clock Tower, Victoria Park and Ocean Park. Click the map to check out their route.
